REQUIREMENTS
Must love working with children, enjoy the out-of-doors,
be physically active and able to live and work in the
heat. Enthusiasm, good work ethic and commitment are necessary.
All positions require current CPR and First Aid Certification,
a health exam, an interview, and a background check. Experience
with camp life preferred. Age requirements: 21 for administrative
staff, 18 for all others except Kitchen Aide which is
15.

| Summer Camp Positions... |
|
UNIT
Unit Counselors are responsible for the daily
care of campers, living with and guiding girls through their
daily routine.
Unit counselors
develop a close-knit bond with the girls in their unit.
Qualifications: Strong desire and ability to live and work in a camp setting
and to make a difference in a child's life. Good communication
and leadership skills, positive, enthusiastic attitude. Must
be a minimum of 18 years old. A minimal number of Junior Counselors
(17 yrs. old) are hired per season.

PROGRAM
Program Specialist (Including Lifeguards) Program
Specialist share their enthusiasm and interest in specific program
areas such as arts and crafts, nature/outdoor skills, and canoeing/waterfront
activities. Program Specialists lead groups in activities daily
and help in additional areas of camp as needed.
Qualifications: Desire
and ability to develop fun lesson plans and lead girls in a variety
of activities within a specific program area; ability
to assist in additional program areas when needed; creativity,
enthusiasm and positive attitude; time management and leadership
skills including safety consciousness. Waterfront Specialist
must have or have the ability to obtain life guarding and canoe
instructor certifications (courses offered in June prior to the
start of camp). Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

KITCHEN
The
kitchen staff members are an integral part of camp.
Head Cook: The Head Cook oversees all dining
hall operations including ordering food, checking deliveries,
maintaining standards of food preparation and kitchen cleanliness
while supervising other kitchen staff members.
Qualifications: Experience, knowledge and ability to maintain food
service standards. Organizational and supervisory skills and
extensive cooking skills/knowledge. Ability to cook for large
groups;experience, knowledge and ability to maintain food service
standards and kitchen procedures, experience in a commercial
kitchen preferred. Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
Assistant
Cook: The Assistant Cook assists in the preparation,
cooking and serving of meals and snacks. Assists the head
cook in all duties necessary to maintain appropriate food
service and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications: Ability
to cook for large groups;experience, knowledge and ability to maintain
food service standards and kitchen procedures, experience in a commercial
kitchen preferred. Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Kitchen
Aide: The Kitchen Aide assists in the serving of
meals, and dining hall/kitchen cleaning including cleaning
the dishes after meals. Kitchen Aides also assist in other
areas of camp as time permits.
Qualifications: Must
be able to use commercial kitchen equipment properly and safely.
must be able to lift 35 pounds. Must have a strong work
ethic and the ability to accept supervision. Must be a minimum
of 15 years old.

Camp Anderel – If you love the idea of working at camp, but are not able to commit to a full six weeks, the summer programs at Anderel may be just for you!
We are currently looking for Program Specialists, including lifeguards, Cooks, and Camp Aides to work three extended weekend events with Girl Scout troops June 21-24, June 28 – July 1, and July12-15. Additional training time is required during the first week in June and there is potential for a few extra days of work with the Girls L.E.A.D camp during the week of June10-15.
